Dedicated to recovering the wounded from the battlefield of addiction

chad lacomb
My life took a difficult turn at the age of 12 when I became involved in drugs and crime, which led to repeated stints in juvenile detention and drug rehabilitation programs. By the age of 21, I was facing a life sentence for murder. After receiving a 15-year prison sentence, I initially continued to struggle with drug use and violence. However, after the first four years of my sentence, a significant transformation began when I embraced faith and turned to Christ, leading to a profound change in my heart and mind. With nearly a decade left to serve, I dedicated myself to studying the bible and seeking spiritual growth.
Upon my parole in 2009, filled with gratitude for god’s mercy and hopeful about the future, I embarked on a new chapter in my life. Today, I am happily married, serve as the associate pastor of Calvary Chapel Temecula, run a successful construction business, and I am passionate about helping men with similar backgrounds turn their lives around.

Growing up in a Christian home, the sin problem of humanity was made clear. However, the challenge of facing addiction as the result of some spiritual deficiency was never explained or understood. Struggling with the shame and guilt of falling into repeated destructive behaviors as the result of alcoholism, I finally reached out for help. My quest to understand what was missing started in 1999. I reached out to pastors and leaders within the church for help. Over the years I went to treatment, recovery homes, and sober living, accumulating experience that would eventually work. Biblical 12 steps practically applied, lived out and shared in community with likeminded people.
I have since developed meaningful relationships in recovery and grown deeply in my relationship with God. Taking the best practices from multiple resources provides a pathway to peace, and a deep connection to my purpose in life: to share this message of hope, and provide a roadmap to success over addiction, and meaning in life.

our vision
Fully Restored Ministries seeks to restore lives torn apart by addiction and sin by focusing on establishing relationship, community and purpose within the context of faith, righteousness and commitment.
the focus
Fully Restored is a ministry with a goal to fully restore individuals whose spirit, soul, and body have been torn apart from addiction and sin. This will be accomplished by focusing on establishing relationship, community and purpose within the context of faith, righteousness and commitment.
“katartizo”
The ministry name was inspired by the Greek word “katartizo” which translates as “restore” in Galatians 6:1. (Galatians 6:1 -(NKJV)1 Brethren, if a man is overtaken in any trespass, you who are spiritual restore such a one in a spirit of gentleness, considering yourself lest you also be tempted.) Semantically, the word has two meanings. The first is, “to heal or repair that which is broken.” The second is, “to prepare or equip for the future.” “Spiritual healing and practical preparation,” embody the vision for this ministry.
the commitment
Those individuals accepted into the ministry will be committing to a minimum of one year. The program will consist of three different phases with each phase reflecting a growing faith and an increasing desire to be free from addiction and sin. The timing of an individual’s transition through each phase will be based on sincere growth, not merely a predetermined schedule.
Relationship with god
Restoration will begin with introducing or reintroducing the participants to the Lord Jesus Christ in order to build a life changing personal relationship with Him. This will be done through daily time in the Word of God, discipling and mentoring by mature believers while participating in a healthy Christian community. We are fully convinced that the wellspring of addiction and sin is in a person’s heart which only the Lord can change. (Mark 7:21 -(NKJV)21 For from within, out of the heart of men, proceed evil thoughts, adulteries, fornications, murders…) Once the core issue, a rebellious and sinful heart is dealt with, then that individual can be prepared or equipped for the future.
individualized
Individual preparation will look different for each participant. For example, one may learn a construction trade while another receives assistance with educational goals. For some, it may include ministry preparation as well. The path an individual chooses will be influenced by several factors: personal desire, gifts and talents endowed by God, the discernment of the leadership, and ultimately the leading of the Lord.
community setting
Fully Restored Ministries pastoral care model will take place in a group home setting. It is in this setting that the necessary close relationships with participants can happen. It is also in this setting that real accountability, love and support is possible.

ultimate goal
Fully Restored Ministries personalized pastoral care model provides the 3 essential components of RELATIONSHIP, COMMUNITY and PURPOSE required for the full restoration of a man’s life. In the context of faith, righteousness and commitment, men develop the necessary Biblically defined characteristics required to live successfully as productive members of society.
relationship
With addiction, relationships are often strained or broken. This begins with God but also affects marriages, children, relatives and friends. Restoring those relationships is critical to a fully restored life.
community
community is a crucial component of healing and growth. It reflects the Biblical concept of fellowship, where believers support one another in love and truth.
purpose
discovering and pursing one’s God given purpose is a critical component of transformation and restoration. Purpose gives meaning to recovery and motivates individuals to strive for lasting change as they reintegrate into society.
